Every-session checklist
The everyday routine: hardware, connect, record, pack up.
Do this every time you use the system. First time? Start with First-time camera and app setup.
1. Hardware
Hub into a wall outlet.
Lens caps off, cameras into Hub ports.
Cap any unused ports.
Heads up: cable ends and open ports can't get wet. The Hub is splash-safe with the lid closed; never submerge it.
2. Connect
iPad WiFi → join SwimClips.
Live tab: are all cameras showing? If not, tap the antenna icon (top right) to scan for cameras.
Feeds look frozen? Tap the circular arrow next to it to refresh.
Moved cameras since last time? Rename them to match where they are today (start, turn, side, mid-pool).
Heads up: iPad on the facility's WiFi = no cameras, no video. Check this first when something's missing.
3. Record
Bottom right of the Live tab: pick the group, then the swimmer.
Hit record, then stop.
No cameras tapped = every camera records.
Tap cameras to record only those. They get a blue outline, which turns red while recording.
iPad camera: if it's open, it records along with the others.
Screenshot coming soon: the Live tab with selected cameras highlighted.
Full walkthrough: Your first recording.
During the set
TiVo Mode and Periscope Mode: watch cameras live, or put a delayed replay on screen so swimmers can watch themselves at the wall.
More than one coach? See Using several iPads at once.
4. Pack up
Lens caps on. Lenses scratch.
Ports capped, lid closed.
